All You Need To Know Sony Xperia Ace IV

It has been rumoured that Sony is developing a budget smartphone codenamed Xperia Ace IV for release sometime in 2019. As a frontrunner in the mobile phone industry, Sony used to make phones with Ericsson, a Swedish telecom behemoth.

With its Xperia-branded smartphones available at all price points, Sony remained a force to be reckoned with even after the rise of the smartphone market.

However, in recent years, due to a gradually diminishing market share and mounting losses, the Japanese multinational has mostly withdrawn from worldwide markets.

Sony continues to produce high-end, mid-range, and budget phones even though they are only sold in a limited number of markets. One such gadget, the Ace IV, will be an improved version of the Xperia Ace III that should still be accessible to most people’s budgets.

Sony produces both low- and high-priced smartphones, with the former’s Xperia 1 IV going for an absurdly high $1,600 in the United States, £1,299 in the United Kingdom, and €1,399 in Europe. There has been suspicion that the unannounced Sony Xperia smartphone, whose specs have leaked online, is the budget-friendly Xperia Ace IV.

The information was shared on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, and was picked up by the Japanese technology news site Sumaho Digest. The report suggests that the forthcoming smartphone would have a very tiny 5.5-inch OLED screen when compared to the standards of today.

According to the rumour, the device will have a Full High Definition Plus (2,520 x 1,080 pixel) display with a 21:9 (7:3) aspect ratio.

The Upcoming Sony Budget Phone

The report indicates that the new phone will have a much better screen than the Xperia Ace III, which had an HD+ LCD display. Reportedly, the gadget will be driven by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC, which is supposed to have a CPU that is 15% quicker and a GPU that is 10% faster than the Snapdragon 480 found in the Ace III.

Compared to the Ace III’s 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space, the reported specifications for the Ace IV are 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. According to the source, the device would have the same 4,500mAh battery as the Ace III.

There are no specifics about the Xperia Ace IV in the article, but it is widely expected to feature the same microSD card slot, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and IP certification as current Xperia handsets.

Nevertheless, unlike its predecessor, which is solely available in Japan, the new phone is expected to be released internationally. If this occurs, it may mean that Sony plans to resume selling smartphones internationally.
